In our very first conversation, my executive client Jackson described himself as “too old,” “out of the market too long,” and “a lost cause.”
At that point, he had been in career transition for 18 months.
Not because he lacked experience or talent—but because his own limiting beliefs had quietly taken over. He felt stuck, discouraged, and unsure how to move forward.
After just a few coaching sessions, something shifted.
Jackson began to notice—and challenge—the self-deprecating thoughts that were keeping him frozen. Inaction turned into intentional action. He reconnected with his network, gathered strong recommendations, and recommitted to his own well-being. Most importantly, he began to believe in himself again.
This week, Jackson reached out with an update that made my heart smile.
He landed his next executive dream role.
He shared that the coaching process—the space to reflect, the questions that gently pushed him, and the structure to move forward—made all the difference. It helped him get over the hump and re-engage with possibility.
Looking back on what once felt like a painfully long season, Jackson reflected that his needs were always provided for—and that, in many ways, he may not have been ready if this opportunity had come sooner.
What emerged instead was a deeper sense of purpose: a desire to use his story to help someone else who feels stuck and discouraged.
This is why I love coaching!
Because transformation doesn’t always start with a new job offer.
It starts with a new way of seeing yourself—and what’s possible.
