Ever feel like you're doing everything right — networking, polishing your resume, applying for roles — but you're not landing?

You feel stuck and are wondering:

"Is it me?"

"Am I missing something?"

This was true for a client of mine — a high-performing sales leader with an incredible track record. After a layoff nearly two years ago, she pushed hard to land another sales leadership role… but nothing worked. Despite all her efforts, she felt defeated, depleted, and unworthy.

Until one conversation changed everything.

We started talking about purpose and impact— and a truth surfaced that she had been pushing down for years:

She had a vision of making a big difference in her community. She had a specific project in mind that she dreamed about spearheading and could envision the impact it would have on those around her.

But because she had so strongly identified as a "sales leader," she kept forcing herself into a role she had outgrown.

Her past identity was unknowingly sabotaging her future.

The same might be happening to you.

❓Are you chasing what you've always done, but deep down your heart's not in it?

❓Are you stuck because you're holding onto a version of yourself that no longer fits?

If so, here's a starting point. Find a quiet time and space to write responses to these questions:

✨ What is it you're really passionate about & why?

✨ What problem keeps surfacing, that you would love to solve?

✨ What would you be thrilled and energized to do every day?

✨ How would achieving this make you feel?

Compare what your wrote to the job you're chasing now. Circle the gaps.

Those gaps? That's what's holding you back.

Clarity of purpose isn't optional — it's essential.

Without it, you're moving forward without real traction.

Have you ever realized you were trapped by an old version of yourself? What changed when you broke free?

If you haven't broken free, let's talk. I will help you see your blind spots so you can get where you want to go faster. Schedule here: https://calendly.com/lauramcgillcoaching/45-60-minute-coaching-session
