Feeling less than positive at the start of this holiday season?

When life feels heavy and transitions feel hard, try the three simple steps below to shift your mindset.

Human brains are wired with a negativity bias, which means negative thoughts hit harder and stick longer.

But here's the good news: you're still in charge. You can choose to what you give your attention.

Why does this matter?

Because your thoughts shape your mood, your energy, and your ability to take action.

Negative thoughts pull you down.

Positive thoughts lift you up — and get you moving again.

If you catch yourself thinking,

“I dread the holidays because there's too much to do,”

try choosing an alternative statement that's both positive and believable, such as:

“I'm grateful I have the ability to do these things, and I can make this fun.”

For a lighter, more grounded holiday season, practice these three steps:

1. Name the negative.

2. Pick the alternative (one you truly believe).

3. Repeat daily.

This is how you slowly retrain your brain — turning negativity bias into a positivity bias.

It's simple. It's science-based. And it works.

If you want to let go of the heaviness, feel better and take action towards what you really want I can help you. Schedule time with me to talk. I'd love to hear from you.
