⛈️ When Life Storms Hit: The #1 Way to Stay Steady

A sudden, fierce wind and rainstorm hit our cabin on the 4th of July night.
There was no time to prepare.
A heavy adirondack chair blew over 30 feet from the dock and disappeared.
The rain pounded so hard it seeped through our closed windows as the lights flickered.
The towering white pine by the lake bent violently — branches broke and crashed to the ground.
Despite the chaos, we were okay. We stuck together, reassured each other, and got through it — together.
It made me think:
When a sudden job or life change hits, it feels a lot like this storm.
Like the windows, we think we're strong — but unexpected trauma can seep in and wreak havoc inside us.
Like the branches, parts of us feel broken.
Like the light, our inner spark can flicker or go dark.
Like the chair, we feel displaced — unanchored, lost.
These feelings are natural. The sense of being broken, uncertain, and unmoored is human.
Here's the #1 way to stay steady through the storm: CONNECTION.
⚓ Let connection be your anchor.
🔗 Stay connected to your people.
🫂 Connect with new mentors, coaches, and communities who can help.
🧘♀️ 🙏 Reconnect with your faith, your beliefs, your grounding practices.
We were never meant to navigate storms alone.
If you're in a season of unexpected change — don't go through it alone.
Reach out to someone you know. If you want professional, non-judgemental, confidential support, I'd love to connect with you. Book time using this link: https://calendly.com/lauramcgillcoaching/45-60-minute-coaching-session
